We highly recommend putting on some makeup for a photoshoot. That way, you would look your best and wouldn’t have to worry about taking photos from different angles!
After speaking with our makeup artist, Charlyn Leong, she said that there are some things we might do on our own to prepare. For basic makeup, we can prepare mascara, eyebrow pencil, blush, lipstick, compact powder, and oil-absorbing paper. Let’s dive in a little deeper.
Mascara – This is a great tool for enhancing your eyes, and it’s quite easy to use. It only takes a few seconds, and our eyes look better, so why not?
Eyebrow pencil – It’s good to have tidy eyebrows. Before you do this, make sure you have plucked or shaved some hair outside of the eyebrow shape. And then, use an eyebrow pen to fill in the spots that are empty. Just apply it softly without putting on too much pressure to create a more natural eyebrow.
Blushes – I remember watching Bobbi Brown’s Masterclass teaching makeup and beauty. Even when she only did minimal makeup for herself, she never forgot to apply the blush. She could skip everything else but that. From here, we could tell how important it is.
Lipstick – Put on some lipstick to create a sharper look, so you wouldn’t look too pale in the photos. You could also replace lipstick to colour lip balm so the lips wouldn’t look too dry.
Compact powder – Compact powder is ideal for achieving a basic makeup look. If you apply too much blush or a foundation colour that does not match your skin tone, you can conceal it using compact powder. It also aids in the absorption of oil on your face, allowing you to appear fresh. Typically, you might use it at the end of your makeup routine, applying it to your face and neck to keep your makeup in place.
Oil-absorbing paper – This would be useful if you wanted to avoid having an oily face. Sometimes our faces look shiny in the photos. By tapping this on our faces, we remove oil and achieve a cleaner appearance.
Hire a makeup artist – If it’s too much work and hassle to get this done, we’ve got your back. We do provide makeup and hair services. Rather than doing it yourself, just sit back, relax, and let the professionals do the make-up for you.
I hope you find this helpful, and let’s look our best in photoshoots!
