Akad Nikah Ceremony & Wedding – Nori and Lyn

We love getting to know our clients, especially stories about how they met and the way they would describe the other. This is the story of Nori & Hooi Lyn, who had an Akad Nikah, Tea Ceremony and Wedding Night!

“Nori is mostly an introvert but is sociable on select occasions with select peers. He is a very charismatic, smooth-talking man. A matured person with an engineer brain so he reads smart books and loves all things tech-related. Becomes very stiff when asked to do cringy things together, but will do it out of love. Meanwhile I (Lyn) is more open minded and is comfortable getting chatty and having a laugh with small groups. I’m a sappy-romantic type of person so I enjoy quiet moments with just me and hubby. We complement one another. Social media is not our thing, we both agree on being present and enjoying the moment. We make each other laugh a lot at bad jokes and we like nature and greeneries.

We met working in the same company. Lyn onboarded Nori into the company. Nori noticed Lyn first but Lyn didn’t think much of it. Many months later, Nori texted Lyn first and asked if they could be friends. We were supposed to meet over lunch in person but Nori had to fly overseas for work, so the first week was spent talking long hours (till dawn) over late night phone calls and getting to know each other, and we got along really well instantly. It was only much later that Lyn found out that Nori waited 6 months to gather the courage to text Lyn after meeting her the first time. After we got together as partners, Nori made a lot of effort to win Lyn’s mom approval. Eventually, she accepted him after seeing his care and effort. Now 4 years later, we tied the knot!”

Malay Engagement Ceremony: Arif & Li Ann

Arif and Li Ann are high school sweethearts who got engaged early this year. The ceremony was held at his house and it gathered their closest friends and family. It was a dreamy event, laced with the prettiest garden flowers and natural light. The atmosphere was warm and charming, kinda like a reunion of sorts. You could see just how comfortable they and their families were with each other.

Arif and Li Ann themselves couldn’t stop grinning at each other throughout the day. We were told they used used to purposely stay back after school just so they would have more time to spend together. And when they weren’t in school together, they exchanged plenty of calls… PRANK calls apparently!

Arif loves coffee and started his own coffee company here in KL after returning from the UK. Thanks to his passion, we were all treated to free flow coffee from Wolf & Turtle. Li Ann also has creative flair and works as a 3D animator for video games! She loves animals and the ocean and hopes to one day be a beach bum with her parrots and husband! We just love how fun and quirky this couple is.

Well, after a 10-year wait… we’re so happy to see them step into a new chapter of life together!

Managing Expectations About Photography on Your Wedding Day

The celebration of marriage is but one little chapter in the tapestry of life. Each story is different but every bit as meaningful as the story of the stranger next to you. It is what makes our lives so interesting to others! When it comes to the chapter leading up to the happily-ever-after part, it is only natural to desire that the heart and essence of every second of the wedding be frozen in time.

This is where the bride and groom come to expect great things from their wedding photographers. But the biggest cause of disappointments when it comes to expectations results from a lack of communication. We’re here to set the record straight and ensure the expectations are reasonable.

1. Getting Ready Photos

We suggest giving us at least an hour to photograph the bride and groom as they separately get ready for the wedding. We like to add some detailed shots of the dress, shoes, cufflinks, rings and invitations. It’s also a good time to capture individual shots once the bride or groom is all ready, plus some photos with close family members and the bridal party.

St Regis Kuala Lumpur & Dato’ Sri Bernard Chandran: Weddings Redefined

We were honoured to be invited as a wedding vendor to The St Regis Kuala Lumpur’s Weddings Redefined event recently. We had booths next to big names such as The Photoz, Manggis Production, Reeka Temor, and Kayangan Gallery. We were stunned with the decorations done by the St Regis wedding team, their unique 270 degree video mapping screen spanning almost the entire ballroom, and of course, the exquisite bridal collection by Dato’ Sri Bernard Chandran. Whether you are the whimsical type, a lover of all things vintage, or a contemporary bride that shuns white, you can find it here in his first bridal collection.

The ballroom was transformed into a fashion show runway. Below, a photo with our studio manager, Yu Ming at our humble little booth.
