This coming May, Warren and Amy will be tying the knot at Putrajaya Marriott. Last year, I photographed Warren and Amy’s proposal in Carcosa on a helicopter! What I really enjoy about photographing Warren and Amy are their endless ideas! Amy is full of new poses and she is a natural model. Doesn’t she look simply amazing? I can’t wait for your wedding! Looking forward to creating beautiful shots for the both of you. Here are some photos from the shoot. I am so excited to see that some of these photos are on your wedding website! The website and wedding invite looks wonderful.
About 2 weeks ago, I celebrated my 30th birthday. Wow, I feel really old now! My cousin told me that 30 is the new 20, but I know that it’s not entirely true! The occasional backaches I get proves it wrong! Haha.. Well, I had a little party at my sister’s home to celebrate the dawn of a new era. It was nice and personal, with close friends attending the party. Towards the end of the night, I opened all the lovely presents that were given to me, and what a surprise I got when Alex presented me with a 5D Mark 2 in a Nikon coolpix box! :)
Alex says I have been hounding him for the new 5D for the past few weeks. Eat sleep, talk 5DM2. Do I really do that? *bats eyelashes*. Well I must say that I have an awesome husband, not just for getting the camera, but in everything he does. He is so supportive of me in everything, especially in my business, providing emotional and mental support all the time. I would not be where I am if it weren’t for him.
In Wedding Story, we have a few camps… the Nikon vs Canon camp. :) Not everyone uses the same system, and though it would probably save us a lot of money when we share equipment, it doesn’t really matter at the end of the day. What matters are the shots that come out and the final look of it. Looking forward to all the shoots coming up soon!
Jek has been Alex’s school friend, colleague and then now business partner for many years. And so it gives me much joy to be able to photograph his new-born twins (now a few months old already!) at his parent’s home in KL. And of course, the parents joined in too! The location was just so beautiful, I didn’t think I was in Malaysia at all! These are a few of my favourite shots. Jek is a photographer too, slowly getting sucked into this whole money grabbing hobby! I really had a great time that day, Jek! Your girls (all 3 of them!) are really beautiful. Hope you like the photos.
Lovely flares! In old school photography books, flares are a no-no!
Definitely my favourite shot of the lot!! So cute!
What do you know? My first nude portraits.
When I heard that ten people would be coming for the portrait session (not to mention 2 dogs), I was a little concerned about how to pose everyone. I remember when I first started out in portrait photography a few years back, I had one of my first few outdoor sessions with a family of 30! I should have known that it was career suicide for me to consider taking 30 people including children out to a park then. Well, I’m glad to say that I’ve improved by leaps and bounds since then. I now understand that taking great people portraits requires great people skills. Every time I meet a family, or a couple, I am excited to be a part of their lives, if only for an hour or two. I remember a photographer friend telling me of a family that she had photographed… the family wasn’t close, but after the photography session, the family bond grew stronger. I’d like to think that after every portrait session I shoot, a family grows closer or a couple is reminded of the love they have for one another.
Thank you Tina for giving me this privilege to photograph your family and your extended family. To Terence, I’m glad to have finally met your family! Everyone was such a good sport… even in suggesting ideas during the shoot! Oh, and I’ll never forget trying to smuggle 2 dogs into Tmn Tun park!
This was how we did it: (pop your head back in, little one!)
I can’t believe how obedient these 2 doggies are! Can you just feel the love in the air?
My sister-in-law, Sarah and her boyfriend Terence
What a way to end the portrait session! They are super flexible!
In our Asian culture where you’d tend to hide everything behind cloth, it is actually refreshing to be able to photograph something that is completely different. A lot of pregnant women tell me that they feel very ‘fat’ and don’t want to be photographed during this stage of their life. But this is such a beautiful occasion, that it completely deserves a photo shoot! It’s that moment in your life when you discover the joy of motherhood. How amazing life is. The magic of creation. A breath. A heartbeat. And then 2 tiny little hands. A cry. A giggle.
Celebrate life! How precious it is.
