Ashley & Candace’s Wedding

What a way to spend the 1st of January 2010! From the moment Ashley arrived, announcing it to the world on a loud hailer to the eating of Guinness soaked noodles, not a single moment was dull. The ceremony at Assumption church was very personal, conducted by Ashley’s own uncle. Since the 1st of January also coincides with the launch of Stories, we decided to try something different with their same day slideshow. The idea to create a story using photos + video snippets is not exactly new, but this was the first time we tried it with a same day slideshow. And the response was great.

Just before dinner started at the Marco Polo restaurant in Jalan Raja Chulan, I managed to steal some time with Candace for some portraits.

I love the way the hall was decorated with balloons.

Are kids allowed to drink champagne during toasting too?

Ash’s dad was superb at performing and singing too! What a cool father!

Sam & Caryn’s Garden Wedding

Sam & Caryn exude a warmth that makes it hard not to like them. Even from the moment I got to know them, they treated me like an old time friend. Caryn loves to laugh, and she has an amazing smile. They have such attention to detail, I love every bit of the deco they created for their wedding! Mark was so awed by the beauty of their garden wedding that he told me, “I’m seriously considering a garden wedding now!” It was a pleasure photographing their wedding.

Sean + Carol, Thean Hou Temple

Sean is one cool guy. He runs My Photo Shop in Sri Hartamas and is constantly thinking of new ideas to make his business relevant to clients and up to date. His service is really good, and not only that, he also loves to joke a lot! Then I met Carol, who is also from Malacca! I found out that she’s Nyonya, just like me. We’re a diminishing breed, I tell you!

Recently, Sean and Carol signed their marriage registration at Thean Hou Temple and I had the privilege of photographing the event. Congratulations, Sean & Carol!

Didn’t I tell you he is funny? He saw this little hole in the door and said, “I wanna sit inside!!”

Sheridan & Yulia

Often times, clients would come to us asking for a personalized video – perhaps explaining their love story, sharing their childhood stories or simply, why they love each other. We absolutely love to come up with ideas for our clients, especially when it involves doing it in new, fun and creative ways! Sheridan and Yulia wanted to have a photo montage of their childhood photos, but done in a fun way with captions and animation. Since it was a coming together of 2 cultures – Russian & Malay, we combined different types of elements to make the video interesting.

This creation was animated by our latest addition to the Wedding Story team – Shu Wan! She can bring graphics and visuals to life through her animation. Enjoy the slideshow! Click play and then pause so that the video will play smoothly.
