The meaning of life…

Sometimes, we get so caught up with living life and the true big picture is missed. That too can be true in the midst of planning a wedding, starting a life together or raising kids. I admit there are many times in life when I don’t set aside “me-time” or “Grace-and-I-time”. When watching this video, it reminded me there is a whole lot more to life, and I hope it will mean something to you too.

Thanks for sharing this, Niki Cheong.

Need proposal ideas? How creative can you get?

Late one evening, I sat with my back toward the dark skies, fresh from a thunderstorm, still clad in my office attire at the office. I was doing heavy research into flash player functionality and surfing YouTube as a reference site.

Randomly, I clicked on this proposal video that looked vaguely interesting and voila… my research faded into nothingness as it took precedence on my screen. Soon, 2 other colleagues crowded around my Mac to watch this heart-warming proposal.

My favourite part is where they strip off their blue t-shirts to reveal the white ones.

It is a tad shaky, but the content is great – believe me. Enjoy!

Behind the Scenes: Amri & Daphne

It’s almost a year since I shot Amri & Daphne’s wedding. Happy upcoming wedding anniversary, you two! Hope you are enjoying married life heaps and heaps!

I can’t believe how things have changed since one year ago. The way I shoot has evolved, and the way I look at light and posing has been refined.

During Amri & Daphne’s wedding, Kee Sitt was with me, and shot some behind the scenes shots of me at work. Somehow, I never had the time to edit it (and never did!). This video was edited by Shu Wan. Thank God for her, otherwise, it might take me another year or so to get this behind the scenes video up! I must say, it is really really difficult to see yourself on video – I get really self-critical… Why are you standing that way? Why is your hair so messy? Stop moving so much! What are you rambling about?

And so, in order to be completely honest with you, here’s me at work – silly quirks and all. Hope you’ll enjoy it!

Amy + Stu Wedding Highlight, Langkawi

Recently I blogged about Amy and Stu’s wedding in Andaman Resort, Langkawi. It’s one thing to view still images, but quite another to hear the sounds of laughter and heart-felt vows being uttered to one another. Filmed by Kee Sitt and edited by Nigel. Enjoy!

Moving on to HD!

It’s a momentous event for Wedding Story. This year, we are making the move to offer HD video to our clients for all wedding film packages. The past few years we have been honing our skills and building our brand. In 2009, we started to expand our wings internationally and we believe that there is more to come in the future! Today, the 4 of us – Kee Sitt, Sharon Koo, Ian and myself will be flying over to Bangladesh to shoot Ali and Farhat’s wedding. Do keep in touch with our travels as we plan to blog frequently while we are there. It will be a week long celebration in the town of Chittagong. Apparently this is where the longest beach in the world is found! Wow!

The trip to get our new Panasonic AG-HMC 152 cameras is in itself an adventure. Alex and I booked our flight to Singapore on Monday, and on Tuesday evening, we flew over on Tiger Airways to Changi airport. What a coincidence as we bumped into people we knew on the flight! Chris Cheong from Berjaya Hotels and Michael Tang from Concorde were on their way to Singapore for a conference and coincidentally, they sat in front of us on the flight.

We arrived at 5.30pm on Tuesday, and took the MRT to City Hall where I met Sherine in Starbucks. She wrote to us to enquire about our services, and so we had a short consultation in Singapore that evening. The world is getting smaller!

Then Wang from Sensys came to meet us at the same Starbucks. It looked rather odd to do a transaction in the middle of a busy coffee place!

By 8pm we met a few friends for dinner.

And then by 10.30pm, Ian Chong came to pick us up to go over to his place to stay the night. I forgot to take a nice photo of him and his wife! :(But here are a few pictures of our new camera, fresh out of the box!

The next morning at 6am, we were already at the airport, to fly back to KL. And what a coincidence, we bumped into another friend Jerrica who was on the same flight! I was also supposed to meet her for a consultation this week in KL. What an exciting 14 hours.
