An Intimate Wedding: Felix & Serene

Witnessing couples like Felix and Serene get married despite all the uncertainty that a pandemic brings makes us so happy. The couple arranged everything to be done safely at their own home so it was a very intimate ceremony with only family members and closest friends – all masked up.

Felix’s parents live in Kota Kinabalu and just a week before, he wasn’t even sure if his parents could make it. Being the first child to get married would have been a milestone that his parents might have to miss. In the end, they managed to fly them in just in the nick of time. Phew!

His sister who was in Australia had to attend the wedding through a live-stream video that we set up. Thank God for technology though, it really brings people together in the moment. We could even her crying through the livestream video when the bride and groom were saying their vows. When the ceremony was over, they got a group photo with her through a iPad. A funny experience for all of them with lots of giggles in between.

This was a really special wedding for us to be a part of. Felix and Serene were also so thoughtful, they sent us a cake afterwards just to say thank you and wrote us this lovely message:

Chinese Tea Ceremony & Wedding Dinner: Yun & Madeline

There’s just something about Chinese weddings that make you feel a rush of excitement. Maybe its the flurry of the morning tea ceremony and all its rituals with family, or large groups of friends and family that gather to celebrate with the couple at night. Whatever it is, Yun and Madeline’s wedding day was one to remember. The couple had already done a ceremony in Australia, so this one was specially for very close friends and family back in Kuala Lumpur.

The couple looked stunning in all three outfits changes and the dinner speeches had us and the guests in happy tears! We’re so glad to see yet another happy couple find forever in each other’s arms. See the full collection and watch the video highlights below.

Wedding Video Highlight: Shri & Hui Ru

Hui Ru loves cats, nasi lemak, chocolate, coffee & sleeping. She aims to maintain a minimalist lifestyle with little distractions & things in her life, dreaming of reaching financial freedom in a few years. Shri is passionate in teaching young people on how to reach their best and happiest version of themselves. On weekends, they enjoy simple things in life like having brunch together and playing with Shri’s nephew.

Shri and Hui Ru celebrated their marriage at Ti Chen, The Saujana Hotel. It was lovely to see elements of their cultures coming together in unity and even more so, to see the joy that friends, family, and the couple had on their faces throughout the day. Their view of life resonates with us too!

“We see each other as soulmates. Before we met each other we were caught up with work & serving our families & the community. But the first time we paused and took time to get to know each other , we realized what true happiness is.”

Here’s the wedding video highlight we did for them. Thank you for having us Shri and Hui Ru! It was a special day indeed.

Portraits at K’Seena House: Joseph & Jamie

I have been meaning to write this post for quite a number of months! Jamie, our team’s talented photographer finally said “I do” to the man of her dreams, Joseph. It was a meaningful wedding for me because I love these 2 people very much as we gotten quite close through the years. Joseph was our housemate for quite a long time until the wedding, and our children loved his playful nature. It was really an honour to be asked to photograph their portraits after the wedding ceremony ended. After the ceremony ended, the heavens opened and there were showers of blessing at the venue (actually, it felt like a storm) but thankfully, the rain stopped for us to take some these images before sunset.

K’Seena House is a very pretty place for pictures, and it was my first time there. I loved how Joseph’s corsage was replaced with a rope, since the both of them are avid rock climbers! What a joy it was for us to witness Joseph and Jamie’s wedding!

Wedding at The Club Saujana: En Tzer & Krystle

People say that university life is one of the most memorable times of our lives. It’s true especially if you are living away from your home country, meeting lots of new friends in an environment that promises lots of adventure. For En Tzer and Krystle, it was Melbourne Trinity College that brought them together. Staying in the same boarding house, going for house parties, buying wine and shopping for ‘shot glasses’ were all part of the experience that brought them together. Soon, 3 years passed and they both ended back home in Malaysia.

En Tzer and Krystle’s wedding happened last year and we thought it’s still a great one to share with you! Here’s some of our favourite images from the day, that started off at The Club, Saujana and ended at TPC KL.
