Styled Wedding Shoot at Colony Coworking Space, Kuala Lumpur

We teamed up with the wonderful people at Colony Coworking Space, Kuala Lumpur to make this gorgeous styled shoot happen. Yes, you read that right – its a co-working space that’s also a wedding venue! With a Canon camera and her favourite go-to lenses in hand, our founder Grace Tan spent a day capturing all the lovely details that were put together to bring a dream wedding to life. We even got to work with a few familiar faces as seen on Instagram! Here are some of our favourite shots from the day, taken around the premises.

Indian Hindu Wedding: Dinesh & Harpreet

“It was love at first sight for Dinesh when he met me at a party,” recalls Harpreet.  “I’ve never met someone who expressed interest in me so openly within 5 minutes of meeting each other!” Feeling a tad uncomfortable with the idea of giving him her number, she took his instead, intending to never contact him again. However, fate had different plans and when her only mode of transport home had issues, she called Dinesh for help. He of course, took this chance to ask her out – to which she didn’t decline because he had helped them with the car battery. One meeting turned to two, two turned to three, and seven years later, they got married at the beautiful Palace of the Golden Horses – the same place our founder, Grace got married at in 2006!

Their wedding was full of colour, joy, and also many lovely little details to remember loved ones who had passed.

Chinese Peranakan Wedding: Mike & Sarah

Mike and Sarah’s wedding felt like a massive reunion of old friends. That usually happens when the bride and groom have known each other since childhood. Sarah’s earliest memory of Mike was in Sunday School. “He’d be the noisiest boy in the hall and be picked out instantly because of his vibrant personality. Till today – Mike has that extrovert personality!” she tells us. We could tell Mike certainly loves being around people and has a good sense of humour. As for Sarah, she expresses herself through writing, singing, and describes herself as an introvert (although Mike disagrees with that last one). Over many years of friendship which eventually blossomed into a relationship, both their best qualities rubbed off on each other – making them a perfect team. The story of how they first met and grew together is really the stuff of a romance novel.

Wedding Video Highlight: Shri & Hui Ru

Hui Ru loves cats, nasi lemak, chocolate, coffee & sleeping. She aims to maintain a minimalist lifestyle with little distractions & things in her life, dreaming of reaching financial freedom in a few years. Shri is passionate in teaching young people on how to reach their best and happiest version of themselves. On weekends, they enjoy simple things in life like having brunch together and playing with Shri’s nephew.

Shri and Hui Ru celebrated their marriage at Ti Chen, The Saujana Hotel. It was lovely to see elements of their cultures coming together in unity and even more so, to see the joy that friends, family, and the couple had on their faces throughout the day. Their view of life resonates with us too!

“We see each other as soulmates. Before we met each other we were caught up with work & serving our families & the community. But the first time we paused and took time to get to know each other , we realized what true happiness is.”

Here’s the wedding video highlight we did for them. Thank you for having us Shri and Hui Ru! It was a special day indeed.
