3 Generations: Yam Family

It was a fun photo session for the ladies of the Yam family. Candy and her sister Ann decided that they wanted to capture some moments together with their mother in this session. Together with Ann’s daughter, the photo session brought together 3 generations of women in one shared experience. Ann was the mastermind behind the coordinated outfits which made it look like an editorial shoot for a magazine! With their long legs, they certainly could pass off as professional models. (By the way, having your hair and make up done professionally makes a huge difference to your images!) Thank you for bringing your family to our studio, Candy!

Wedding at Wesley Methodist Church, Seremban: Jonathan & Lyn Yen

On the day of Jonathan and Lyn Yen’s wedding, family and friends gathered in Seremban… all ready to dance right into Lyn’s family home and pick her up for church. Jonathan’s heng tai entourage consisted mostly of his female friends, and they were totally into the role… with their matching #sokhooyetsowong t-shirts, cool sunglasses and tough attitude. On the other hand, Lyn’s bridesmaids were in beautiful two toned blue dresses. Lyn’s gorgeous wedding gown was designed by one of our previous brides, Katrina who was totally emotional seeing Lyn in it!

There were a lot of interesting ‘drama’ happening on this wedding day… from Jon innocently leaving the bridal bouquet in the freezer before the wedding day, to discovering a broken button on his tux, to someone accidentally taking one of the groomsmen’s shoes leaving him stranded just before church…thank God there were solutions to everything!

Most importantly, thanks to Lyn’s grandmother and brother, they managed to find a spare button, sewed it onto Jon’s tux and rescued the day. In church, Jon was tearing as Lyn walked down the aisle… he was just so overcome with emotion…though Lyn and his friends broke out in laughter as a response to that. I just felt, “Aaw… this is really one soft, tender hearted man, just like a giant teddy bear!”

We had a great time in Seremban that day, and then also 2 weeks later in Sofitel, KL for the 2nd half of their wedding. If you would like to read more of their story and view their pre-wedding photos, please click here.

A surprise for a 90 year old grandma: Kirthi’s family

Kirthi wrote to us saying that she was planning to come back to Malaysia from Australia to surprise her grandmother for her 90th birthday. As a family of 4, she said that they never had a family portrait, though they had wanted to do one for years. So this year, she decided that she would make it happen as a wonderful birthday present for her grandmother. When Kirthi shared her desire, it made our hearts swell with love and excitement. We absolutely treasure family photos and we’re so glad that Kirthi does too! These are precious family photos that will remind the next generation of this lovely grandmother and her beautiful smile.

Family Portraits at Desa Park City: Greg & Eunice

They share a love for luxury sports cars, and how apt it was that the Sepang International Circuit was the background for their first meet up. Both Greg and Eunice are from Singapore, and when we met Eunice at an ibu event, she told us that she wanted portraits reflecting their life here in Malaysia. For expats living in Malaysia, I think it is a great idea to do a photo session at the country you are based at for a particular season of your life. Love Someone With Autism

Did you know that 1 out of 68 children are affected with autism? Autistic children face various challenges in life. We partnered with The Hope Project, the non-profit arm of Early Autism Project Malaysia to create a video about autism awareness.

So what is autism?

Autism is a lifelong development difficulty that affects how an individual relates, communicates and interacts with other people as well as how they perceive the world around them. In essence, they face deficits in social communication/ interaction and have restricted, repetitive patterns of behaviour or interests. It is a spectrum disorder in which their symptoms and severity vary widely across the core characteristic symptoms. This means, while all individuals with autism share certain similar difficulties, these symptoms affect their lives differently. (extracted from EAP’s website)
