DIY: How to Make Your Own Lightbox

It’s a DIY day again! Now you might wonder, photography isn’t my profession, so why would I want to make a mini lightbox? Well… besides being a fun craft activity when you make one, a mini lightbox can come in very handy for anyone.

For example, if you want to sell off second-hand items online, you need to take a photo of each item and upload it. Using a mini light box will make your photos look super professional – just like the product photos you see on shopping stores online. Grab the attention of potential buyers faster, declutter your life, and earn some extra cash in the process!

So let’s begin.

Our Studio is Open

Dear faithful readers, past clients, supporters, and friends,

Spending the past one and a half months in uncertainty and adjusting to a new normal has not been easy for everyone. We’ve been thinking of all those who are greatly affected, and our hearts and prayers go out to them as we go through this challenging time together.

As for our business, many photo shoots were cancelled with almost no new bookings for the rest of the year to follow. Scary times for us for sure. But understandably, it’s because of the nature of our business and the fact that personal health and safety among our clients and our staff is priority.

Meanwhile our team (Chi Yin, Abel, Sarah, Wai Teng, and myself – Grace) continues to keep our spirits up by encouraging each other. Many of us are learning new things and expanding our skillset. We’re also keeping the conversation going on social media by sharing our favourite photo collections from before – something to remind us all to smile and appreciate our loved ones even when we’re stuck with them 24/7!

Another encouraging note to add this week is the announcement of the Conditional Movement Control Order. With that, we are ready to open our studio and photography services again but following certain conditions. We will ensure health and safety measures are in place according to the Malaysian government’s advice and this how we will be operating:

Large Family Portraits

Chinese New Year is coming up and that is the best time to get together for a large family portrait. We’ve done so many of these large groups in the past and absolutely love seeing multiple generations coming together for a common purpose. Recently, we also photographed a family of 4 generations where the great-grandparents were 97 and 100 years of age respectively! Now that’s a reason for celebration!

We especially love taking photos at the homes of our clients. This is really meaningful because there’s a lot of memories attached to these homes. Even though some of our clients complain about the houses being messy, that is fine! We’ll always find a corner to photograph. The mess can sometimes trigger a memory too. However, if your family home is in a town far away from KL, you can also do a portrait session in our studio. We have accommodated up to 26 adults in our space in the past!

Contact us for a portrait session for this Chinese New Year. You’ll never regret the effort you went through to make this session happen.

Maternity Portraits: Andrey

Remember that maternity photos are also about you and your partner so wear whatever you’re most comfortable in! We love how Alvan and Andrey rocked up to our studio in these complementing outfits that completely suited their personality. You can also bring a change of clothes to try out a different look and feel. Styling is key to making the shots look uniquely yours!
