Raya Family Portraits: Alif Satar & Shadila Halid

With Raya just around the corner, it’s so exciting to welcome families for portraits at our studio. Malaysian artist and actor Alif Satar, his wife Shadila Halid, and their extended family popped by in April, all dressed up for their annual Raya family photoshoot. Both Alif and his wife are no stranger to the camera of course, so the photoshoot was quick and easy! It was so nice to meet their siblings, in-laws, nieces and nephews too.

Always a joy to photograph families. More snaps of this good-looking family below!

Remembering Their Malaysian Home: Sung Tai & Ofeliya

Sung Tai and Ofeliya met at a Christmas potluck for international students during their university years in Canada. It all started with his cooking skills. “He won my heart with his sticky rice!” Ofeliya tells us. Since then, they have been together for 17 years and married for 13 years. Prior to Covid-19, this nature and travel-loving couple used to travel to at least three counties per year and have been to over 20 countries in the last six years!

Moving from one place to another so often, only means there’s more reason to take photographs for good memories. So when their time in Malaysia came to its end they called us! We went to their home at Desa Park City and took photos to capture the life and precious memories they enjoyed as a family here.

Ofeliya left us a lovely testimonial:

“We love the short video! Great service from start to finish. I wish we knew about you earlier but definitely will use your service if we ever come back. Have a great weekend.”

A Mini Studio Family Photoshoot: Jason & Xian

It’s Jason, Xian, and their baby James’ first photoshoot together as a family. James was barely a year old in these photos! We had 30-minutes with them at our studio – not a lot of time for a baby to warm up with strangers, but in the end… everything turned out alright. Mummy played his favourite game of peek-a-boo and daddy gave him snuggles. That was good enough to bring out his little smile for the camera. Phew!

We also had some pampas grass decor in the background for this one. Xian loves the Korean culture and they remind us of Jeju’s gorgeous autumn Eulala flower. It suited this little family perfectly!

Maternity & Family Photos at Home: Sebastian & Yan Lim

A maternity photoshoot is always exciting and special when you’re a new mother. If it’s your second child, the photoshoot could turn into a family session! For Sebastian and Yan, this maternity-family shoot was for their fourth child! Still as special, even more so because she says it will be their last.

We went to their home for this one and it was beautiful! Yan clearly has an eye for home styling. There were so many beautiful corners to photograph with! It was easy to photographer her and her husband. She’s a go-getter while he’s calm and a little more introverted. They make a good team, which is great because they work together professionally too.

Their three other kids, Isaac, Sophie, and Lucas joined us for the shoot as well. The coming of a fourth child will be a big change for Lucas as he will soon learn to be an older brother too. It’s a whole family affair!

Razin Turns One: Family Portraits with Afiq & Sabrina

Whenever we plan family photos sessions with parents of young children, we like to ask them to describe their child / children. Even at the age of one and younger, a child’s personality traits start to show here and there. It’s always so nice to hear parents marvel at their children even before their kids say their first words! Every little behaviour or quirk is to be appreciated.

Afiq and Sabrina described their son as a very observant baby who takes time to assess new people and his new surroundings. He LOVES animals… especially elephants, balls, shiny gold things, and playing peek-a-boo! So of course, we had to give Razin a birthday setup that would bring out his best smile and twinkly curious eyes. His parents brought along some of their own props and it all came together so nicely!
