On the second day of Raya we were invited to Nadia Nasimuddin’s home for another round of family photos, and boy has her family grown! This would be baby Tia’s first Raya family portrait with the family. We did a few variations – especially since they all had new outfits from the previous day with the bigger family, and made sure to capture one with Puan Sri Zaleha Ismail and her grandchildren!
Over the past five years the Raya festive season means one thing for us – getting to photograph the Nasimuddin family! Just like last year, we did two photo shoots over two days. One for Datuk Wira SM Faisal Nasimuddin and his siblings which include Diana, SM Nasarudin and Marion Caunter, SM Faliq and Chryseis Tan, and another just for the family of Nadia Nasimuddin and Hamzah Alang Tan Sri Azman Shah.
It’s nice to have a yearly tradition like this because you get to document the growth of the children. When I told Marion that I still remember how Liam crawled away from our group photo years ago, she cracked up laughing because she remembered that moment too. Now he is so big! I think it’s the shared experience that makes a yearly photo shoot like this so special and wonderful. We get to journey alongside them. It is also nice to see new babies added to the family each year! As much as it is a joy for the family to have this tradition, it is special for us too. We’ll admit we also enjoy eating the best homemade rendang every Raya at their household! More photos below.
Shaun and Jochebed Isaacs celebrated their 10th year of marriage with an intimate renewal of vows. Together with their daughter Eden, and pastors Mervin and Leanne Jayaseela, they exchanged vows and gestures of honour on a gorgeous day at Putrajaya. They also shared their reflections on marriage and how meaningful this day was for them in a short video. Scroll down to watch!
A few months ago we had the pleasure of doing a family portrait session for Che Puan Sarimah Ibrahim and her husband Tunku Jamie Nadzimuddin, together with their daughter, Tunku Sofia. With different backgrounds to choose from and few outfit changes, we got to capture many casual and intimate moments that the family share in their lovely home and around the compound.
Darrel and Andrea work in Singapore while their son, Julien lives with his grandparents in Kuala Lumpur. They come back to KL every weekend to spend time with him. “We take Julien out as much as possible to expose him to the outside world,” Andrea told us.
The day they came to our studio for photos was to celebrate Julien’s first birthday. Kids grow up so quickly, and this was a great way to remember everything about him at this age. His laughter, his small hands and feet, and how comforting it feels to hold him in their arms.
Weekends like this are really precious for them. “It’s always hard to say goodbye when we return to Singapore. We’ll bring him to Singapore when he’s slightly older,” Andrea says.
Meeting Darrel, Andrea, and little Julien reminds us how a photographer’s job is never just about taking pretty photos. It’s about bringing meaning to people’s lives and supporting them on the journey with their loved ones. Thank you for giving us this privilege. More photos below!
