We invite all family members into our studio, including pets! Photographing pets can be quite challenging. They belong in the same category as the “terrible-two-toddlers-who-does-as-he-pleases.” Instead of getting frustrated that your pet (or your toddler) doesn’t behave the way you hoped, just go with the flow and take their lead! Whether you are shooting in our studio, your home or outdoors, here are some tips that would help create a better, more successful family photography session with pets.

It was a pleasure to photograph Kit Mah and Cindy’s pre-wedding photos. When Kit Mah and Cindy first met online, they approached each other to chat about work, health, and wellness. As they got to know each other more, Kit Mah was impressed by how Cindy was such a dedicated and highly disciplined person. Kit Mah found many common things in them, and they shared many of the same values. One day, Cindy was leaving for a trip to Indonesia, and Kit Mah was speaking at the Integrative Medicine Conference 2019 for the first time. Despite the packed schedule, Kit Mah still had Cindy in mind and wished her a safe flight. Cindy was touched by how thoughtful he was. That was one of the sweetest memories for both of them. They continued building the relationship, having so much to share with each other, and the time together was never enough. The connection was strong and special. Kit Mah has even created a book to document their love journey together.
This upcoming festive season is a great excuse to do family portraits! The best part is seeing the children grow up through the years. I’ve photographed this Lee family many times, from the time the children were babies. We had so much fun recreating old poses in their grandparents’ home. All you have to do is to find an old image, go to the same location and then place people at the same spot for an updated photograph! It’s really easy and quite fun! One day, they will look back again and remember all the happy moments they shared as a family.
We are not just photographers, we are heirloom builders.
It’s really amazing how photography can connect people. I met Jill for the first time during her maternity session, and we had a blast together. That very evening, as I was sharing bits of information about my photo shoot with my in-law’s, my mom-in-law suddenly connected the dots, and asked me out of the blue, “Is this Jillian Heng?” She told me that she was the cousin of Jill’s grandmother. So, that evening, I discovered a new distant relative. What a beautiful way to find family!
During Jill’s maternity session, we included her little pet dog into the photos as well. After all, pets are family too!
Congratulations, Jason and Jill on the birth of your little daughter recently. I look forward to meeting her in the near future.
For a soon-to-be-wed couple who enjoy nature and all things outdoors, challenging each other at boardgames, and are dog-lovers at heart, Justin and Anna couldn’t have picked a better location for their pre-wedding photo shoot. We spent an afternoon strolling around the grounds of Sekeping Serendah, a quiet retreat tucked away in a cool forest just beyond Kuala Lumpur.
They brought along some board games and we got to capture moments representing how their relationship developed over two years of dating. This also included a fun activity where both Justin and Anna were asked to write down everything they each appreciated about the other. Wherever these two were, a little black mini schnauzer would be patiently waiting nearby – confidently marking its place as the first official family member since their relationship blossomed!
