As promised, more photos from the Sikh wedding shoot. From 3000 photos shot over 3 days, it’s really hard to pick only a handful to showcase on the blog. So we’ve created a slideshow for you to view, which is right at the bottom of this post. I love this shot of Raj & Charan, there’s so much drama to it.
They can pass as movie stars! These 2 photos below were taken by Mark.
It was quite some time back that I blogged about Raj & Charan’s Maiyan & Sangeet ceremony. We’ve been so busy lately that blogging has taken a back seat. We have so many lovely shots to share from this wedding, that it cannot be done in just one or two posts. So I’ll be blogging about it over the next few days. Charan’s henna designs are so lovely! I admire the stamina that you need to have in order to wait for the design to be painted on, and then dry. She started her mehndi in the morning, and it was completed hours later, about 6pm!
Before and after…
More to come… here’s a sneak peek of Charan on her wedding day!
During the Hari Raya holidays, a group of friends and I went away for a short trip to Bali. You can probably recognize some of these faces as I’ve blogged about a number of their weddings here on this blog! I am glad to have found such great friends such as these who are there to do every silly thing together with you. One of the things I suggested: A portrait shoot during our holiday! Since they LURRRVE to be photographed, everyone pretty much agreed to it! We even decided to colour coordinate our clothes.
This is my 2nd trip to Bali, and I hope that it won’t be the last one. I plan to go back one day for a pre-wedding shoot there some time. I have identified some really cool places to visit, and also made contacts with local Balinese there, so hopefully next year, I’ll be able to organize a pre-wedding shoot there. If you are interested in this idea, do leave a message here! In fact, the Wedding Story team would gladly fly to any part of the world to shoot your wedding. This year, we’ve had the privilege of shooting in Bangladesh and Holland.
Would like to share with you some of the many photos we took! Here’s my husband Alex and myself.
The room was packed with photographers. Of course, who would miss out on the chance to meet world renowned photographer Jerry Ghionis for only RM350? Naturally, this wasn’t a personalized workshop with Jerry, but we had the privilege of hearing him speak for a full day. Before we started, the kiasu 3 of us – Mark, Ian and myself got a photo with Jerry. I was surprised when he lifted me! Must have been easy peasy since I am really light.
Jerry shared with us his life, about how he started in the business of wedding photography, how to market ourselves, how to pose, how to look at light… etc. In a couple of hours, we absorbed as much as we could. If you sign up for his 5 day workshop, you’ll get to learn all these in detail.
