Post-Wedding Portraits: Azin & Kasra

Azin & Kasra are from Iran but have family living in Malaysia. The planning for their post-wedding portraits took place remotely over WhatsApp calls, with voice messages in English and also translated into Persian through their relative living here. We felt really happy to meet them, and to bring them around our beautiful city of Kuala Lumpur. Though language sometimes hindered communication, eventually, we had a successful shoot thanks to body and sign language! This can be quite tough when you are trying to get natural expressions from the couple, but I think the photos turned out well, thanks to Jennifer’s direction.

Family Heritage: Through the Years

Over the past 11 years since we opened our doors, we have been privileged to meet so many different people, from all walks of life. It also gives us such pleasure to see the family grow, photographing milestones from their wedding day to their first pregnancy and 2nd child! Here are just some of our ‘before and now’ collections taken through the years. Enjoy!

Maternity Portraits: Nawal

We are blown away by the city view from Nawal’s apartment in KL – the perfect spot to do a maternity shoot! I personally love visiting private living spaces for photo sessions because it is always different. I am able to incorporate many different interesting elements into the session and hopefully, help the couple or family see a different side to their home. Thank you for inviting me and allowing me to be part of an important moment in your life. All the best to you as you enter into a new phase of life!

Family Portraits: YB Hannah Yeoh

There are many people who have walked through our studio doors, and I have been so honoured to meet all sorts of different families, personalities and celebrities. One such person is YB Hannah Yeoh, our¬†Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development. I’ve heard her speak & share her story in church a few times. Her faith in God and her desire to do good, walk with integrity and serve the public has really inspired me.

Due to privacy reasons, I am unable to share her children’s photos, though we had lots of beautiful images of the kids laughing and having a great time at the studio. You’ll just have to take my word for it. :)

Family Portraits: Jeffrey & Juliet

Jeffrey and Juliet are from China, but their hearts are now in Malaysia, after falling in love with this country. They first moved to Malaysia in 2013, when their son was only 3 months old. In 2016, they moved to Brunei but couldn’t stop thinking about the apartment they rented when they were living in Malaysia. So in 2018, they decided to relocate back to that same apartment in Malaysia even though Jeffrey still works in Brunei. It was a place of special memories.

For Jeffrey’s 40th birthday, he decided to do something special by arranging for a family portrait session at their beloved home. I had the privilege of seeing snippets of their lives including meeting their very fascinating furless Sphinx cat named Luna. I am also amazed at how beautifully Austen plays the piano! It is truly inspiring.

So happy to get to know your family, Jeffrey and Juliet. May you continue to build long lasting memories in Malaysia.
