Hindu-Christian Wedding: Mohanen & Alisha

Some things just go together. Like apples & cinnamon; rum & raisin; or peanut butter & jelly. They may seem like opposites yet they taste so good together!

So it is with Mohanen and Alisha. He likes the great outdoors and is happiest spending time with his buddies with a drink or two while watching a live band. Her idea of a good time is being curled up on the sofa with a good book and some hot chocolate. Mohanen likes things neat and tidy while Alisha is the messier of the two. And yet, they suit each other to a tee!

They met in college and their relationship bloomed a couple of years later. They started a long distance relationship when Alisha had to complete her medical degree in the UK, which spanned 9 long years over three continents! They now reside in Adelaide, South Australia and share their home with their one year old ‘baby’ – their dog Darcy.

Watch their love story in this clip and you’ll be able to see why they jive together so well!

Church Wedding at DUMC – Ian & Michelle

As a couple, they have been together for 9 years, with almost 6 of those years being in different countries. But not many couples can say that they have gone through a life-threatening situation together at the tender age of 19. It was 2009 when Ian suddenly discovered a weird lump at the tip of his jawbone and underwent surgery to remove it. But everything came crashing down when the diagnosis revealed that Ian had cancer of the salivary gland. It was heartbreaking to find out about the cancer diagnosis at just the tender age of 19, when life seems to take off for most teenagers.

In 2010, Ian had to undergo another operation, and it took place on Michelle’s 20th birthday – on the 27th of February in Singapore. At that time, Michelle was undergoing internship with 1 of the most renowned airline in the world. It was a lesson on life’s priorities. She left her internship and headed for Singapore. Many condemned her, claiming it was a stupid mistake but she knew exactly what she needed to do at that point of time in such situation.

God saw them through the most difficult season of their relationship, to date. Ian later took the rest of the year off to recover from it.

On Michelle’s 25th birthday, Ian was officially CANCER FREE.

The journey was never smooth sailing, but it was necessary for them both to grow individually and in God’s perfect timing, all things were made beautiful. Hear more of their story in the 10 minute video highlight below.

Proposal Video: Thomas & Chooi Ling

It was in March 2014 that Thomas first came to my office to meet me. He was planning his girlfriend’s proposal and wanted to get us to record a video for him. We discussed some ideas but then nothing materialised out of this till April 2016 when he suddenly picked up the conversation again, and we made the plans to go through with the proposal. We even followed him to buy the ring! From my interactions with Thomas, I can tell that he is a really meticulous and thoughtful person. He puts a lot of effort into what he does, and doesn’t just take things lightly, but plans far ahead of time!

We are so pleased to share with you his proposal video here. The fun part was getting Chi Yin and Delvin to ‘hide’ naturally in the restaurant where the proposal was going to take place. They were having a ‘meal’ there, at a specific table pre-arranged with the restaurant owner. We had also arranged for Thomas to sit at a specific table and chair! We had so much fun planning this proposal.

We’ll be photographing Thomas’ wedding to Chooi Ling this June 2017 after 9 years of being together. What an amazing journey! Congratulations, the both of you!

Garden Wedding at Saujana: Samuel & May

It was their love of children that brought them together…and their desire to serve the Lord. Surrounded by children from their church’s kid’s ministry, Samuel and May just considered each other as acquaintance. It was April 2015, and they didn’t really talk to each other. Neither were they attracted to each other. In fact, May was not even thinking of getting into any relationship at that time. It all changed one day, when…

May: …the Holy Spirit spoke to me at night and told me to send “him” a text but I wasn’t sure who that was. So I scrolled down the contact list inside my mobile phone. My finger stopped at Sam’s name instantly but I ignored it at first. Then I scrolled backwards and my finger stopped at his name again. So I sent him a message. Surprisingly, Samuel replied me promptly and then he started to text me from that moment on for a month.

During Mother’s Day at church, he gave me 2 pink plastic roses while the other volunteers (kids impactors) received 1 “purple” rose. I felt weird but received it.

Next, he started to flirt with me and asked me out for coffee after the event. On the second movie date, on 27 May 2015, he confessed his feelings to me. Strangely, he held my pinky finger and my face felt warm and nervous. Then he held my ring finger and continued to middle finger. My heart was beating fast and I didn’t know what was going on. We held ‘fingers’ till the movie ended. And at the car park, he held my hand and asked, “Would you like to be my girlfriend?”

That was how it started.

Wedding Video Highlight at Ciao: Tai Kuan & Pei Yee

They were very young when they met each other… he was 23 and she was 16! She was one of the many students in his class that he was tutoring, and somehow they got acquainted. 12 years later, they are married! You have to watch this tear jerking video to find out more about their story… We’re so touched to see how close Pei Yee is to her sisters. Marriage will change circumstances, but relationships with siblings can stand the test of time. Thank you Pei Yee for trusting our team, and for the lovely macarons surprise after the wedding!

Pei Yee says: “We chose Stories as our videographer for our ROM Ceremony as we really love the videos they did previously. We had our ROM on 08.10.2016 and the video was suppose to be shown during the dinner reception on 15.10.2016. Despite the short timeline (in only one week), Stories produced, i would say, the best video i have watched.

I would say i am a bridezilla and i have watched almost all the wedding videos i can find in the internet. We had high expectations on Stories but the video was way past our expectations. Our ROM video was exactly what i wanted. Stories manage to highlight the whole event, but at the same time add personal touch to the video. Delvin, Chi Yin and Choo Cherk did an amazing job by making everyone very comfortable and they worked really hard to capture every moment they can.

I have watched the video 20 times myself and i am still not bored of it, everyone asked who my did my ROM video and i would proudly say, Stories did.”
