Hun Young & Ju Yee’s wedding

Photographers: Grace & Mark

Wedding Gown Boutique: Neoromantic
Cheongsam: Jason Yek
Guy’s Suit: Lord’s Tailor

Dinner Reception: Crowne Plaza Mutiara Hotel, KL
Decoration: Favors Essence

Since they were teenagers, Hun Young had his eyes on Ju Yee. She’s that pretty girl in school whose smile and laughter captivated him. In that school hall, as Ju Yee played table tennis with her friends, Hun Young could not stop thinking about how she stood out in that crowd. She thought he was cute, but as with all teenagers, the definition of cute is rather ugly but adorable.

Luckily for Hun Young, Ju Yee’s perception of him changed over time and soon, they started going out. His first impression of her as a tomboy was quickly crushed…and now, many years later… they are married!

In my eyes, Ju Yee looks gorgeous. I cannot imagine her in short hair and behaving like a tomboy! I had the privilege of shooting their pre-wedding photos as well in Dusun Garden Fairies, so if you’d like to have a look at the photos, click here.

Vernon + Denise

Photographers: Grace & Johan
Wedding Gown Boutique: My Dream Wedding
Make up & hair: Carol
Flowers: I Do
Videography: Lam
Dinner Reception: Top Hat Restaurant

There are a few facts that I know about Vernon & Denise.

Firstly, when you have such a close knit family like Denise’s family, you know for a fact that lots of fun is sure to follow. Even though I didn’t understand the many different Chinese dialects that was spoken that day, I knew for a fact that everyone had a great time.

I know for a fact too that Vernon and Denise are a creative couple… Vernon works as a video editor and Denise as an interior designer. But I think Denise’s family members trumped them in the creative department… because the games played that morning were just soooo creative!

And lastly, I know for a fact that Vernon and Denise cherish close relationships. That’s because they chose to have a small intimate dinner at Top Hat Restaurant with a small number of guests, instead of a large dinner reception in a ballroom.

Denise’s cute dog that was dressed for the occasion! If you’d like to see him in another outfit, click here.

WPPM 2010

My long overdue blog post is finally here! For the past 2-3 months, the Wedding & Portrait Photographers Malaysia (WPPM) committee slogged to get everything organized for this inaugural conference. A few hundred photographers gathered at Berjaya Times Square hotel to hear from talented photographers such as Jerry Ghionis, Lito Sy, Charlie Lim and many other local photographers.

The event started off with a bang at the WPPM Canon Opening Night. Here’s Peter, one of the key persons behind WPPM. The other 2 key people are Alvin Leong and Patrick Low.

Raezal + Asyura

Photographers: Johan & Mark
Venue: Shangri-la, Kuala Lumpur
Wedding Gown Boutique: Cosry
Groom’s Attire: Wardrobe
Make Up: Su Cantik
Videography: Luey Motion Lab

Hi, it’s Johan here…this is my first blog post on the Stories blog. I prefer to just post photos than write, but Grace made me! Anyhow, we were introduced to Raezal and Asyura by Nori Abdullah. During the discussion, we noticed things like instead of having a flower hand-bouquet, the bride was going to make the grand entrance holding a Japanese fan. From the word go, we knew that this was not going to be a typical Malay Wedding reception.

And boy, we were to be not disappointed.

From the cute origami cranes to the unique “merenjis” ceremony on the “pelamin” to the Japanese style wishing tree, it was such a colorful affair.

Calvin + Audrey’s Indoor Garden Wedding: Part 1

Ceremony & Dinner location: Royale Chulan Hotel, Kuala Lumpur
Wedding gown: Neoromantic
Evening gown: Sophia Bridal
Cheong sam: Emerald Brilliant
Make Up: Hebe Leng
Cake: Wong Li Lian
Flowers: Lee Wah florist
Photographers: Grace & Mark

Audrey and Calvin sure know how to have fun. There’s never a dull moment when they are around. One of the stories that was told during dinner by the maid of honour, Jessica, was about how she and Audrey sneaked out of the house when they were 16 – with Audrey ‘borrowing’ her mother’s car and driving them to 1 Utama! I love the spontaneity and creativity that is so much part of who they are. Their wedding had all these elements combined together – lots of fun, laughter, spontaneous ‘madness’, and lots of creative moments!

I totally enjoyed myself at this wedding. The first part of the day was Chinese themed, and then garden style, and finally, ending up in a classy ballroom!

Introducing… gorgeous Audrey.
